Columbus Fire offers free smoke alarms to residents—just call the Smoke Alarm Hotline at 614-724-0935 to request one. Stay safe, stay prepared!

2025 Summer Internship Cohort at Columbus City Council

The City of Columbus

Apply Now for the Columbus City Council 2025 Summer Internship! This paid internship program is open to rising college juniors, seniors, and first-year graduate students and runs from May to July. Interns will work up to 20 hours per week at a rate of $17/hr, gaining hands-on experience in various city offices, including Councilmember Offices, Communications, Community Engagement, Legislative Research, and the City Clerk’s Office. Interns will learn about the legislative process through tasks like constituent relations, policy analysis, and data collection. Interested applicants must submit an online form, along with a writing sample and resume to NIWalters@columbus.gov by February 28, 2025.

Free Tax Filing Clinics

We want to help central Ohio families access tax credits and refunds. If your household’s total income was less than $70,000 in 2024, you may be eligible for free tax filing assistance. Schedule below for an appointment at Linden Community Center, Community Development for All People, Hilltop Early Learning Center or Eastland Primary Care! You can also sign up for Super Saturday, taking place at on February 22 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Nationwide Children’s Education Center, 575 S. 18th St., Columbus.
